Application Procedure

Type of licence :-

• JPN.KCO1B licence:

  Consent of marriage for one who is 18 years of age but not yet 21 years old)

• JPN.KCO1C licence:

  Application for marriage licence without notice of marriage and declaration of marriage)

• JPN.KCO1D Licence:

  Application for licence for women below 18 years old but who have reached 16 years of aged)

• JPN.KCO1E Licence:

  Application for licence to perform the marriage ceremony elsewhere other than the Registrar's office

Applicant is required to be present at the NRD counter/Consular Office/Malaysian Embassy together with supporting documents:

• Identity card for citizens

• Passport for non-citizens together with a photocopy

• Birth certificate for applicants below 21 years of age

• 1 coloured photo of the applicant (32 mm x 38 mm)

• Agreement form/Licence for applicants below 21 years of age

• Decree Nisi Absolute if a divorcee

• Death certificate for a widower/widow

• Letter confirming status of marriage for non-citizens from the applicant's country of origin

Conditions of Application

• Must obtain approval from the Assistant Registrar General/ Registrar General/State Superintendent/Chief Minister/Minister/Menteri Besar and the ceremony will be performed after approval has been obtained.

• Payment:

  JPN.KCO1B licence: Free

  JPN.KCO1C licence: RM100.00

  JPN.KCO1D licence: RM10.00

  JPN.KCO1E licence: RM500.00
