GENERAL

1	Normal Registration of Birth/ Stillbirth Applications for the registration of birth or stillbirth submitted within 60 days of the date of birth/stillbirth shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications.	20 minutes	20 minutes	20 minutes
2	Normal Registration of Death Applications for the registration of death submitted within 7 days of the date of death shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications.	20 minutes	20 minutes	20 minutes
3	Search in Register of Births/Deaths Applications to search for data from the register of births or deaths shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:

	b. For the birth of a child registered before 1/1/2003 (pre-SIREN).	3 working days	7 working days	7 working days
4	Extract of Birth/Death Register Applications for extract of the birth or death register shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For data that has been updated in the system	20 minutes	20 minutes	20 minutes
	b. For data that has not been updated in the system	3 working days	7 working days	7 working days

LATE REGISTRATION

1	Late Registration of Birth Applications for the late registration of birth shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For children older than 60 days to 12 years who were born in a government hospital or private clinic or at home and delivered by a government certified midwife (no interview is required except in questionable cases)	14 working days	14 working days	30 working days
	b. For children older than 60 days who were: i. Born at home and delivered by a non-certified midwife/person; ii. Abandoned; and; iii. Registered late and have attained the age of more than 12 who were born in a government or private hospital/clinic or at home and delivered by a government midwife	15 days after the interview	30 days after the interview	30 days after the interview
2	Late Registration of Death Applications for the late registration of death shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the completed applications at any NRD counter.	2 working days	3 working days	20 working days

ALTERATION

1	Registration or Alteration of Name of Child under 1 Year in the Birth Certificate [Section 15 (1)] Applications to register the name of a child or alter the name of a child aged under one in the birth certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter.	1 hour	1 hour	14 working days
2	Registration of Name of Child Aged 1-21 [Section 15 (2) (a)] Applications to register the name of child who has attained the age of one but not 21 in the birth certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter.

	b. For data that has not been updated in the system	12 working days	30 working days	50 working days
3	Registration of Name of Child over 21 years [Section 15 (2) (b)] Applications to register the name of child who has attained the age of 21 in the birth certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter.
	a. For data that has been updated in the system	7 working days	14 working days	50 working days
	b. For data that has not been updated in the system.	12 working days	30 working days	50 working days
4	Correction of Clerical Errors in the Birth/Death Certificate [Section 27 (2)] Applications to correct any clerical errors in the birth or death certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For data that has been updated in the system	1 hours	1 hours	14 working days
	b. For data that has not been updated in the system	12 working days	12 working days	20 working days
5	Correction of Factual Errors in the Birth/Death Certificate [Section 27 (3)] Applications to correct any factual errors in the birth or death certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For data that has been updated in the system	10 working days	15 working days	30 working days
	b. For data that have not been updated in the system	15 working days	30 working days	30 working days
	Sabah Only
6	Registration of Name of Child Aged 11 Years and Below [Section 11 (i) (iii), Births and Deaths Ordinance (Sabah Cap. 123)] Applications to register the name of child who has attained the age of 11 and below in the birth certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the completed applications at any NRD counter.
	a. For data that has been updated in the system	-	10 working days	(District JPN)
	b. For data that has not been updated in the system	-	17 working days	30 working days
7	Correction of Clerical Errors in Birth/Death Certificate [Section 30 (2) of the Births and Deaths Ordinance (Sabah Cap. 123)] Applications to correct any clerical errors in the birth or death certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For data that has been updated in the system	-	10 working days	(District JPN)
	b. For data that has not been updated in the system	-	14 working days	30 working days

ADOPTION

1	Registration of De Facto Adoption Applications to register a de facto adoption of a Muslim and non-Muslim child under Act 253 shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For applications received at counter:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	5 working days	5 working days	5 working days
	ii. For data that has not been updated in the system	7 working days	7 working days	7 working days
	b. For applications received by post:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	5 working days	5 working days	5 working days
	ii. For data that has not been updated in the system	7 working days	15 working days	7 working days
2	Extract of De Facto Adoption Certificate Applications to obtain an extract of a de facto adoption certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at any NRD counter:
	a. For applications received at the counter:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	20 minutes	20 minutes	20 minutes
	ii. For data that has not been updated in the system	5 working days	5 working days	5 working days
	b. For applications received by post:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	7 working days	7 working days	7 working days

3	Amendment of Details into the De Facto Adoption Certificate Applications to amend the details of a de facto adoption certificate shall be processed and completed within the following time frames from the date of receipt of the complete applications at NRD counter:
	a. For applications received at the counter:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	5 working days	15 working days	15 working days
	ii. For data that has not been updated in the system	7 working days	15 working days	15 working days
	b. For applications received by post:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	5 working days	7 working days	7 working days
	ii. For data that has not been updated in the system	7 working days	15 working days	15 working days
4	Registration of Adoption by Court Order Applications to register an adoption by court order under Act 257 for non-Muslim adopted child and adoptive parents shall be received, processed and completed by the Birth, Death and Adoption Division of the NRD Headquarters in Putrajaya.	7 working days	-	-
5	Change/Replacement/Amendment of Birth Certificate of Adopted Child Applications to change/replace/amend the birth certificate of an adopted child under Act 257 shall be received, processed and completed by the Birth, Death and Adoption Division of the NRD Headquarters in Putrajaya within the following time frames from the time/date of receipt of the complete applications:
	a. For applications received at counter:
	i. For data that has been updated in the system	20 minutes	-	-
