Frequently asked questions and answers for public reference.

My father/mother/relative passed away in Makkah while performing Hajj. How do I register the death?

The death of a Malaysian pilgrim in Makkah is registered by the Hedjaz Registrar appointed during that Hajj season. An extract of the Death Certificate can be obtained after the applicant, who is the legal next of kin, completes Form JPN.LMH4 and submits the applicant’s identity card or a copy to the NRD Headquarters in Putrajaya. For cases other than the above, applicants are advised to register the death within six months from the date of death at the NRD Headquarters in Putrajaya by submitting the deceased’s documents, such as a certified copy of the passport, identity card, birth certificate if any, death confirmation letter from the Government of Saudi Arabia, burial permit, flight ticket and other supporting documents.
