Application to Correct Errors in the Marriage Register

This application is to correct errors in the Marriage Register is divided into two (2) categories, namely:

(i)         Correction of Clerical Errors and approval of applications is under the jurisdiction of the Division Director/State Director/ Head of Office.

(ii)        Correction of Errors of Fact and approval of applications are under the jurisdiction of the Director of the Division of Marriage and Divorce, Headquarters.

1. This application is only to correct errors that occurred at the time of marriage registration.
2. Applications can be submitted at any nearby NRD counter.
3. Only the owner of the marriage register is eligible to apply.

1. The Error Correction Form (NRD.KC08) is completed.
2. ORIGINAL MyKad and a copy for citizens.
3. ORIGINAL passport and copy of non-citizen.
4. The ORIGINAL Marriage Register and a copy.
5. Other supporting documents (if relevant).

NOTE: Please submit with the Extract of the Marriage Register if the ORIGINAL Marriage Register has been plastic coated (laminated), missing or damaged.

1. RM2.00 for application fee.
2. RM6.00 for payment for approval of correction of information.
