Registration of a Marriage Under Law, Religion, Custom or Usage Before 1 March 1982

Non-Muslims that were solemnized under law/ religion/ custom/ prevalence before 1 March 1982 and wish to re-register the marriage voluntarily.

MyKad (original and copy)

Valid passport and pass containing information on the date of arrival in Malaysia and abroad (original and copy)

Identification documents at the time of the marriage (original and copy), if applicable

One (1) passport-sized photograph with a blue or white background for each applicants.

If applicable:

Confirmation of the record of movement in and out of the country from the Malaysian Immigration Department

Name verification letter (original and copy)

Proof of marriage such as:

Marriage certificate (original and copy)

Wedding photograph according to law, custom, religion or prevalence complete with date (original and copy)

Wedding Invitation Card complete with date (original and copy)

Child's Birth Certificate (original and copy)

Any evidence of marriage

All certificates and supporting documents that are not in Bahasa Malaysia or English must be translated.

Certified translations must be done in Malaysia and fully signed with the translator's original stamp.

Both men and women must be present at the NRD to make an application.

Only complete applications will be accepted and processed.

The applicant must submit any supporting documents requested by the NRD officer, if required
